1/ What is included in the download?

A/ The download file contains the following:

Comprehensive help file - to get your form up and running in no time!

The main contact form - this is where your visitor fills in the contact form.

The preview page - this where your visitor can see their message before sending it and they can edit the details if needed.

The thank you page - this displays a thank you message to confirm that their form has been sent.

Your message is important to us and we will be in touch as soon as possible.

The side panel is the same as the one here on the left. This can also be replaced with your own artwork or graphic.

The e-mail banner which is the same as the one used in our samples, you can see the banner here!

A css style sheet is included and you can edit it or replace it as needed. This is only used on the web site pages and not in the e-mail messages. The messages have the styles coded into the file and can be customised.

A/ Your web server MUST have PHP installed or you will NOT be able to use PhPreview Form! You can download our test file here to see if you have php running on your server. Unzip the file and upload it to your server. Then call it up in your beowser: e.g. http://www.mysite.com/timstamp.php. Or you should check with your web hosting administrator.

PHP will run under Unix, Linux and Windows environments.

A/ Your web host must have PHP set up with "REGISTER_GLOBALS" turned ON! If REGISTER_GLOBALS is turned off PhPreview will NOT WORK - end of story! Make sure that your web host WILL allow REGISTER_GLOBALS to be turned on...

We cannot take any responsibility if you download PhPreview Form and it does not run on your server. PhPreview will work under any version of PHP from v3 upward!

A/ Not really... though it would help if you wish to customise the form. There are four simple pieces of information that you need to edit before using PhPreview on your web site. These are as follows:

You need to add your e-mail address.

You need to add your web site URL.

You need to add your business, company name or personal name. Edit the link to your images in the style sheet and your done!

Upload the three files, the css file and images to your web server with an FTP client and then call up the contact.htm page in your browser like: http://www.awebsite.com.au/contact.htm - then send yourself a message to test the form! Simple - effective and economical!

A/ No, not unless you want to completely customise the way PhPreview Form works. There are php tags within the script that make everything function. Web designers will enjoy the simplicity and make money by being able to incorporate the same feel as their clients web site in the web pages AND the e-mail responses... your clients will love it!

If you don't understand PHP or HTML there is a good chance that you can break the script. This could prevent the messages from sending or the preview from displaying. It is best to leave the form as it is or seek advice on how to customise the script.

Some PHP tags within the form look similar to the one below:

<?php echo $sometag ?> These are best left alone if you are not sure how to change them or what they are for... Our help file does have some pointers to help you achieve your desired result.

A/ Yes, once you have purchased PhPreview Form it is yours to do as you please. If you are creative you can totally change the look of the pages and the e-mail to suit your own theme. If you understand PHP and HTML you can add more fields to collect relevant information from your visitors. Some of our customers have added up to 50 extra fields!

NOTE: Our Copyright Notices can be removed from the main pages once you have purchased PhPreview Form. However, the copyright and version information must remain in the e-mail headers for version tracking and reference.

8/ Will my e-mail address be hidden in the form?

A/ Yes. This is the best part about PhPreview Form. Your e-mail address and other sensitive information cannot be seen when someone trys to view the source. Spiders that extract e-mail addresses from web pages will not be able to find your e-mail address either!

PhPreview is a simple and cost effective way for your visitors to get in touch with you. Compared to CGI scripts such as FormMail etc. PhPreview is much safer and preferred by most web hosting providers and ISP's.

A/ Yes! Although support is only available to registered users and if the files have not been customised in any way. PhPreview is distributed as is and will work fine with just four changes in one file. We can install and/or customise your form for you and prices are quoted according to the work required.
